-- TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE --
Sonic Essence is an original 2D Modern Sonic adventure built with the Retro Engine V4 Decompilation. It features completely original sprites, levels, badniks, and an all-new soundtrack featuring remixes and original compositions! This project aims to push the potential of Retro Engine (V4) modding to show the fresh and new experiences the decompilation can offer!
The Next Splash demo is a refined version of the demo seen at the Sonic Hacking Contest 2023 (which included Windmill Isle, 2 acts of Seaside Splash Zone, Modern Sonic with a variety of moves such as the air dash, light speed dash, stomp and wall jump), with new additions like an overhauled Seaside Splash act 1, an extended Windmill Isle, new voice lines for Sonic, a bounce ability replacing the stomp, and a variety of other fixes and tweaks!

-- THE STORY --

After months of peace, Sonic the Hedgehog is back to doing what he does best: saving the world from the dastardly schemes of Dr. Eggman. But this time, Sonic has to face the greatest threat to his world yet.
Dr. Eggman, through the power of a long-lost and powerful gemstone: the Soul Sapphire, plans to drain the world of its life essence to reshape it into the mechanical utopia he always dreamed of. The only way to stop this scheme is through the power of the Chaos Emeralds, and the secrets of an ancient civilization lost to time, to release the life energy back into the world.
Sonic doesn’t just have Eggman to worry about either; He also has to deal with G.U.N. and Shadow the Hedgehog, their top agent. Shadow has one directive: destroy the Soul Sapphire at any cost, even if it means Eggman’s damage can’t be undone.
This adventure will put both heroes to the test, and bring their rivalry to the forefront once more as the clock for Eggman’s ultimate victory ticks by. Time is of the essence, and time is running short.

This looks EPIC! From the music and sprite work and the technical skill behind it I am looking forward to seeing more! Out of curiosity is this going to be at CGS in some capacity?
